Advanced Humidity-Controlled Ventilation System Overview

This system integrates six humidity sensors with six corresponding extractor fans, each operating independently to maintain optimal humidity levels based on configurable setpoints. The system is designed for dynamic environmental control and supports multiple operational modes, manual overrides, and comprehensive monitoring features.

Core Features

1. Humidity-Based Fan Control

  • Each fan is governed by its own humidity sensor.
  • Humidity setpoints are individually adjustable via potentiometers, with a ±50% range from the base value.
  • Fans automatically adjust speed to maintain the target humidity level.

2. Multi-Mode Operation

The system operates in three distinct modes based on the time of day:
  • Quiet Mode (Night):
    • Setpoints are reduced by 50% to minimize fan activity and noise.
  • Busy Mode (Morning & Afternoon):
    • Setpoints are increased by 50% to enhance ventilation during peak activity.
  • Normal Mode (Other Times):
    • Fans operate at their standard setpoints.
  • Start and end times for Quiet and Busy modes are fully configurable.
  • The system clock, including time zone settings, can be updated manually or programmatically.

3. Fan Control Options

Each fan can be individually set using a three-position switch:
  • Automatic Mode: Operates based on humidity sensor input and system mode.
  • Disabled: Fan remains off regardless of conditions.
  • Forced On: Fan runs at full speed continuously.

4. Fan Status Monitoring

Each fan reports one of three operational statuses:
  • Running
  • Stopped
  • Tripped (Triggers an alarm notification)

Monitoring & Visualization

Real-Time Display

For each fan, the following parameters are displayed using intuitive bar indicators:
  • Humidity: 0–100%
  • Fan Speed: 0–100%
  • Temperature: 0–40°C

Graphical Data Visualization

  • Humidity and temperature trends for each fan are plotted on interactive, real-time graphs.
  • Historical data can be exported in Excel format for analysis and reporting.

Snapshot Reporting

  • A detailed snapshot of each fan’s current state can be generated in text format, including:
    • Fan speed
    • Humidity and temperature readings
    • Current setpoint
    • Operational mode
